INDENTURE between John Thomas & Thomas Helme - 20 August 1690


Know all men by thos presents that I, John Thomas of Brookhaven in ye County of Suffolke on Long Island in the Province of New Yorke have Given granted aliened sould & confirmed and by thos prefents doe give grant alien, sell & confirme unto Thomas Helme of this said Towne & County a certaine dividend of Meadow seituate lying and being at the place commonly called the ould Mans Beach as it was granted by vote of the Inhabitants and freeholders of ye Towne of Brookhaven & registered in the Towns booke. To Have & to Hold the said meadow with the profitts thereof to your use & behoofe (benefit) of the said Thomas Helme & his Heires for ever and I doe hereby Covenant promifs & grant to which with the said Thomas Helme to give quiet and peaceable pofsefion of the same without any lot hingerance or molsletion from me or any by my means or procurement. And I doe hereby acknowledge that I have recieved full satisfachion for the same In witnefs whereof I doe hereunto set my hand & seale this twenth eth of August in year of our Lord one thoufand six hundred & Ninety.
