INDENTURE between Nathaniel Norton, Mary Helme and William Smith, Esq. - 20 November 1695 - unrecorded


This Indenture made ye twenty day of November in ye seventh year of ye reign of William ye Third by ye grace of God of England Scotland France Ireland, King Defender of ye faith and anno Dom 1695 Between Nathaniel Norton and Mary his Mother of ye Towne of Brookhaven in ye County of Suffolk on Nassau Island of ye Province of New York of ye one parte and William Smith Esq. of ye Manor of St George in ye said County of ye other parte Witnesseth That ye said Nathaniell and Mary for good causes them thereunto Moving Especially for ye sum of twelve pounds Currant money of ye said Province to them paid before ye ensealing and delivery of this present the receite whereof they doe hereby acknowledge Have given granted alined sould and confirmed and by these presents doe fully freely and absolutely give grant alien sell and confirme unto ye said William Smith a certin alotement of land situate lying and being in ye little neck within ye Mannor of St. George aforesaid by computation five acres or thereabout as it was lade out and bounded To have and to hold the said land with ye benefit profit and prvileges thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to ye said William Smith his heires or assigns forevery to ye use and behoofe of ye sid William Smith his heires or assigned forever And by said Nathaniel Norton and Mary his Mother Doe hereby convenant promise and grant unto the said William Smith he heires or Assigned a good title and quiet possession in ye before granted premises fully and clearly acaquitted from all incumbrances whatsoever and to warrant and defend ye same against any laying claims to the same and futher if it be needfull to signe seal and deliver any other instruments in writing for ye better assurance of ye same In witness thereof ye said Nathaniel Norton and Mary his mother Executrix of Nathaniel Norton Deceased have hereunto set their hands and seals ye day and year afore named.
