INDENTURE between Samuel P. Helme & Caleb Kinner - 8 January 1828


This Indenture make the twenty eighth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between Samuel P. Helme of the Town of Brookhaven in the County of Suffolk of the first and Caleb Kinner of the same place of the second part, witnesses;

That in considertion of the rent to be paid and ...... to be performed by the said Caleb Kinner as hereinafter mentioned the said Samuel P. Helme has demised leased and let to hire and by these presents does demise lease and let to hire to the said Caleb Kinner all that certain tract of land and the building thereon consisting of a store, small dwelling house, store house, shed stable, ....yards the property of and recently occupied by the said Samuel P. Helme in the village of Drown meadow in the said Town of Brookhaven fo the term of five years and such shorter term as may be occasioned by the previsions of this lease commencing on the day of the date of thes presents.

And the said Caleb Kinner hereby covenents with the said Samuel P. Helme to pay him the said Samuel P. Helme his heirs, executors administgrators or assigns herefor an annual rent of one hundred dollars in four quarterl yearly payments of twenty five dollars each on the twenty eight days of April, July October and January in each and every year during the continuance of this lease the first payment to be made on the twenty eighth day of April in the year 1828.

And it is hereby mutually covenented by and between the said parties, that the said Samuel P. Helme his heirs or assigns may at any time during the said term on giving to the said Caleb Kinner thirty days previous notice and offering to sell to the said Caleb Kinner the said premises on terms as favorable as the highest which may or shall be offered to the said Samuel B. Helme by any other person or person and a neglect or refusal of or by Caleb Kinner to purchase the same on such...........

This Agreement made the 22 day of January 1828 Between Samuel P. Helme of the Town or Brookhaven County of Suffolk of the Firs Part an Caleb Kinner of the same Town and County afforesaid of the second part witnefsth that the said Samuel P. Helme of First Park doth lease unto the said Caleb Kinner of the Second Part his Store Situated in Drownb meadow with it a ..... House blacksmith Shop & wood yard For the term of Five years For the Sum of One Hundred Dollars per year to be Paid Quarterly. The said goods is to be taken at ..... cost such as he had an account of the ..... to be inventoried for their value. The ..... For the goods to be one half In Spril the remaining half in Eight months. The Said Samuel P. Helme is to have the Privilege of Taking or .....the Store at any time he wishes to occupy it Provided that he takes goods the the same rate that he sells them to the afforesaid Caleb Kinner.
