William Smith made extensive land purchases, settling on "Little Neck", an irregular
peninsula between Conscience Bay and Setauket Harbor. Later he bought approximately 40,000
acres on the south side of Long Island where he built a second manor home at Sebonac (Mastic)
and known as the Manor of St. George.

"Tangr this twentie-sixth Day of Nouembr 1675
This day beeing fryday I William Smith Borne in Newton near Higham ferris in Northampton
was married to Martha Tunstall of Putney in the Countie of Surrie, By Docctr William Turner
in the Protestant Church in Tanger."

Then Almight God was pleased (after sixteen days of sickness of a Rheumatim & c...) to
take to himselfe our hond Deare Father Colo: William Smith, who ye 21st of saidf inst
was intered in the Evening, where he had directed & Mr. Geo: Phillips preached his
funeral sermon."
"Manr St Geors Sepr 1st 1709 Thursday morning 1/2 an hour past eight/Then Almighty
God was pleased to take to himselfe our hond & Deare Mother, after 14 days sickness,
Viz: first ye Chollick & then succeeded with a Mallignant feauer & sore Throat &
Mr Phillips Preached her funerall, she was borne July 2d"
